Dunnage Bag

Dunnage bags, also known as airbags and inflatable bags, are used to secure and stabilize cargo. Introduced around 1970, Dunnage bags provide convenient and cost-effective cargo stabilization in ISO sea containers, closed railcars, trucks, and oceangoing vessels.

Dunnage airbags consist of closed chambers made from an elastic film filled with air.  Dunnage bags can be used to stabilize, secure, and protect cargo during all sorts of transportation. Dunnage bags are placed in the void between the cargo. Dunnage bags can be used in all modes of transportation.

There are two kinds of Dunnage bags: Polypropylene Woven and Kraft. The sizes and dimensions vary according to the weight of the pallets, the dimensions of the container. At the same time, they are classified by “levels” referring to the quality (strength) of the Dunnage Bags.

dunnage bag, also known an inflatable bag, is a device used in shipping and

logistics to secure and stabilize cargo during transportation. It is typically made of a strong,

flexible material such as polypropylene and consists of an inner bladder and an outer protective layer.

dunnage bag uses:

The dunnage bag is placed in the void spaces between cargo items or between cargo and the walls

of the shipping container or truck trailer. Once in position, the bag is inflated with compressed air using

an air pump or inflator gun. The inflation causes the bag to expand and fill the empty space, creating

a cushioning effect and preventing the cargo from shifting or moving during transit.

The primary purpose of dunnage bags is to minimize the risk of damage to goods caused by vibrations

, shocks, or impacts that can occur during transportation. By effectively filling the voids and securing

the cargo, dunnage bags help to prevent product damage, including scratching, denting, or breakage,

which can result from cargo movement.

Dunnage bags come in various sizes and shapes to accommodate different cargo configurations and

shipping containers. They are commonly used in industries such as automotive, electronics,

pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods, where protecting the integrity of the products during transit is crucial.
